Local Author Partnership

Simply placing a book on the shelf does not automatically lead to sales. We believe the most successful independent author titles are supported by active author participation, social promotion, and community engagement. Discoverability is one of the biggest challenges in retail publishing, and books perform best when authors actively help drive local momentum.

Please allow up to 30 days for us to thoughtfully review your submission. Because we receive a high volume of inquiries, we may not be able to respond immediately to every submission, but every one is considered carefully based on genre fit, audience interest, production quality, and local connection.

Please note: We operate on a consignment structure with local authors with a 90-day evaluation period. In addition, we offer a paid social promotion opportunity. More details are found in our form.

Do you accept all independent books?

Not always. We carefully curate our inventory based on genre fit, audience interest, physical production quality, wholesale availability, and whether there is a strong local or community connection.

Does having my book stocked guarantee sales?

No. While we provide a gorgeous local shelf, organic social features, and an email newsletter spotlight, active author participation (such as events, local word-of-mouth, and social promotion) is vital for strong sales.

What kinds of events work best?

Weekend meet-and-greets, table signings, launch parties, themed conversations, children’s story times, local interest talks, and book club-style discussions tend to be our most successful formats.

Can I walk in with my book and drop it off?

Please do not drop off books unannounced or gift them at the counter. Although it is incredibly kind, our drop-off review shelves runneth over. Please submit your book digitally through our author intake form first. If we feel it’s a great fit, we will reach out to you.
